What the law covers
Colorado's Building Families Act, effective January 2023, is one of the most inclusive fertility mandates in the country. It requires insurers to cover fertility diagnosis, treatment (including IVF), and fertility preservation without discriminating based on sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status.

- Covers up to 3 egg retrievals and unlimited embryo transfers
- Includes fertility preservation for medically necessary reasons

Limitations & Exclusions
- Applies to plans issued or renewed after January 1, 2023
- Religious employers may apply for exemption
